Our Executive Team

CultureTrax is a product of Cellara, which was founded in 2012 by a group of veteran product development engineers and stem cell scientists. We are a Wisconsin-based company headquartered in Madison, a world-class center of the most advanced cell culture science and information technology.

Our vision is to accelerate scientific discoveries and breakthrough therapies based on advanced cell culture technology. As part of the scientific community, we provide transformative web-based information tools which empower cell culture scientists to realize the full potential of their research and collaborate more effectively.

Scott Fulton, CEO Scott has over 38 years of management & consulting experience with established and early stage companies in the life science tools and biotechnology industries. His contributions include product design, development & support, quality & regulatory affairs, product management, business development, marketing strategy & communications, technical & business modeling and investment. He has been on the executive team of 4 successful start-ups, including one as founder & CEO taking the company through commercial launch and successful exit.

Reidar Aamotsbakken, Co-founder & CTO Reidar has 19 years of experience developing medical device products and software, and was previously the director of the medical device program in the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has worked on many innovative products including the first wireless device used in medical imaging, a transcatheter aortic valve replacement device, and EEG software and accompanying record keeping software suite.  He is one of the co-founders of Cellara and previously co-founded Swift Manufacturing and Engineering, a contract mechanical design & manufacturing company in Madison, WI.

Reidar Aamotsbakken, Co-founder & CTO

Reidar has 19 years of experience developing medical device products and software, and was previously the director of the medical device program in the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has worked on many innovative products including the first wireless device used in medical imaging, a transcatheter aortic valve replacement device, and EEG software and accompanying record keeping software suite.  He is one of the co-founders of Cellara and previously co-founded Swift Manufacturing and Engineering, a contract mechanical design & manufacturing company in Madison, WI.

Tori Sampsell, VP Product Management Tori has 11 years of experience as a stem cell scientist with an extensive background in stem cell research, education, and  product design and development. Her contributions to the field include research and development of methods and assays enabling new capabilities and creating core curriculum and training programs used to develop scientists with strong stem cell culture skills. She has a passion for the enormous potential of stem cell science to improve human health and has provided stem cell culture training to over 60 scientists in industry and academia. She is committed to continuing her contribution by enabling stem cell scientists to more efficiently track their complex culture work, replicate protocols, and improve collaboration.

Tori Sampsell, VP Product Management

Tori has 11 years of experience as a stem cell scientist with an extensive background in stem cell research, education, and  product design and development. Alex Vodenlich, VP Business Development Alex is a business executive with over 20 years of experience in venture formation, commercialization, sales and marketing, business management, corporate organization and governance. He has provided leadership to many organizations including KromaTiD, Inc, Gentel Biosciences (Intuitive Biosciences) and PanVera Corporation (Thermo Fisher Scientific) by developing compelling business plans, successfully commercializing products and services, raising private equity funding, securing small business innovation research (SBIR) grants and recruiting top talent.

By developing effective go-to-market strategies and educating markets and sales channels, she has contributed to the success of 4 start up companies that turn innovation into customer solutions.

Rachel is a life science professional with 20 years of experience in product management and strategic marketing driving new technologies and products into biopharmaceutical markets. She has held strategic positions at PanVera Corporation (ThermoFisher Scientific) BellBrook Labs, BioSystem Development and Agilent Technologies. By developing effective go-to-market strategies and educating markets and sales channels, she has contributed to the success of 4 start up companies that turn innovation into customer solutions.

Kevin Conard, Co-founder & VP Operations Kevin has 18 years experience in pharmaceutical and stem cell research at PowderJect Vaccines, WiCell Institute, Stemina Biomarker Discovery. He has participated in fundamental research that contributed to improving plating, growth efficiency and survival upon cryopreservation.  Kevin has developed hES high throughput screening assays to supplement animal models in drug discovery.  His research includes dosing hES cells with known teratogens, using mass spec to identify a fingerprint of teratogenicity, and then creating a predictive computer algorithm of teratogenicity. He is excited to bring his experience to product design and quality.
